This wall set offers an attractive design with the strength and durability of acrylic. A liner for your tub consists of sheets of pvc plastic or acrylic which are molded to the shape of a tub placed over your existing tub and then glued down to cover it up. An installation kit is also included with the bathtub surround. The old tile area needs to be smaller than the kit and you ll need to build up the surrounding wall.

This wall set also features 6 corner shelves and 1 center shelf for maximum storage. However it has the advantage over real tiles in that there is no surface coating that can be chipped or that can crack. 3 piece direct to stud tub surround in high gloss white is designed to fit 32 in. Tub surrounds can sometimes be installed over existing tile but only when conditions are right.

A tub liner is simply an acrylic cover that requires you to trade the deep gloss of a restored porcelain tub for the look and feel of plastic. Those cheap bathtub surrounds not the direct to stud ones but the ones that you glue over either drywall or tile. Peel the paper backing off of the foam tape on the back of the panel and position the panel over the tile. Peal off a course of tile on the sides and make a skim cut there also just deep enough to cot the drywall and not any pipes studs or wires.

Apply a bead of sealant onto the panel keeping it about 1 inch in from the foam tape around the perimeter. The kits are available at many home and hardware stores for a do it yourself project and at commercial companies that sell and install the kit. Insert the supplied sealant tube into a caulk gun. First protect the tub with plastic and tape or carpet protector.

Next using a reciprocating saw with the blade in upside down make a skim cut just above the tile. They all say you can apply them over tile but what do you do with the edges where plastic bathtub surround applied over tile. A bath wall kit is otherwise known as a bath surround or a bath liner. Rub your hand across the panel up and down to press it firmly against the tile.

The side pieces are attached next with tiny screws make sure your frame is square. The first piece of schluter which is the bottom part of the frame is attached to the wall with tiny screws in between the grout lines of the existing tile.
